The longboard truck translates your actions into movement. It is what allows you to enjoy that smooth carve around a hairpin corner or feeling of fear when speed wobbles attack. Stoked offers a wide variety of longboard trucks to meet the needs to every rider.
There are four basic features of trucks:
1) Kingpin Placement- Is it a Reverse Kingpin Truck (RKP) or a Traditional Kingpin Truck (TKP)
2) Hanger Width- The width of each truck (In millimeters, typically ranging from 125mm to 215mm)
3) Baseplate Angle- The angle at which the kingpin points
4) Bushing Seat- How much room is allowed for the bushings to compress
Your riding style and your skateboard deck will largely determine your skateboard truck. If you are interested in cruising and carving, we recommend getting something in the 150mm - 180mm range in any of these top brands: Paris, Randal, Caliber, and Bear.
For downhill skateboarding, we recommend a skateboard truck in the 180mm - 195mm range within any of the same top brands.
